Bergmans is a jig developed for perch fishing from the ice. The advantage is that it sinks quickly into the perch shoal again after you have caught a fish. The jig imitates a hunting small fish and works best when the perch is on the bite. When the jig is jerked it causes the bait to move to the side and then slides back to the center of the hole and often there is a reaction bite as it stops.
